Review Summary
In 1994, dietitian Anne M. Fletcher wrote a book called Thin For Life: 10 Keys to Success from People Who Have Lost Weight and Kept It Off. Four years after, she wrote this book, Eating Thin for Life: Food Secrets and Recipes from People Who Have Lost Weight and Kept It Off, which contains recipes based on the principles she wrote about on Thin for Life.
This book has been around for eight years and is now being sold online at a discounted price. Having been published in the late 90’s, the concepts are no longer new. However, we will be evaluating it in this review and see how good it is as a diet plan.

Concept
As a follow-up book, Eating Thin for Life includes the concepts written about on her previous work. Then she goes into a discussion of the main topic of the book--“food secrets” and provides recipes that readers may want to try. Fletcher’s aim is to help people change the way they think about food and hopefully make changes on their eating habits as a result.

This book has two parts, the first one falling under the heading, “Food Secrets of the Master”, which includes several chapters. In each chapter, different “food secrets” are discussed with titles such as “Don’t Let the Tough Times Get You Down”, “Eat Large”, “Want to Be Thin More Than You Want to Eat the ‘Wrong’ Foods”, and “If You Want It, Have It”. All these are meant to provide readers with a better understanding of their relationship with food and how to alter their present mindset. The second part features recipes based on the food principles discussed in the book. It would have been good to see a menu sample posted on the website, but unfortunately there is none.

When it comes to weight loss, “secrets” of success abound. This book features several of them which people who are intrigued with the success of other dieters, may want to read about. Eating Thin may also be appealing to people who know that they need to change their attitude about food as well as their eating habits. We particularly like books which feature nutritious recipes as dieters often reach a certain plateau in the weight loss mainly because they do not know how to vary their diets.
Due to the absence of a sample menu, we could not determine whether the type of diet it espouses would work for all types of people or if it would only be suitable for those following a mostly vegetarian diet. Because the book was written almost a decade ago, it is not exactly up-to-date with the recent developments in health, fitness, and nutrition. Some people would probably prefer a more modern approach to weight loss and how to sustain it.

Final Thoughts
The “food secrets” featured in this book which a decade back made up its main selling point, are no longer intriguing today. However, the perspective on food it offers may still be useful to some dieters, but then again, it was also based on concepts that have been tried before. There are so many more current diet products and program available which we suggest dieters consider instead of the secrets in this book. Those who are serious about achieving permanent weight loss would most likely benefit more from high quality and advance dietary supplements.
The most effective supplements in the market today are those which contain a combination of two important weight loss ingredients—Hoodia and Advantra-Z. Hoodia is a very popular and proven effective appetite suppressant which has been hailed in the media as a breakthrough ingredient. Advantra-Z is the patented version of bitter orange extract which is a highly effective and safe fat burner. When considering a product, look into those made by manufacturers which offer a free trial sample for prospective customers.
