It is targeted at people who are 10-25 pounds overweight and presents them with plans which can be adapted to suit personal needs and goals.
The book was authored by Edward Jackowski who has written other books on weight loss and exercise including “Escape Your Shape and Hold It! You’re Exercising Wrong”
Aside from supplements and gadgets, there are also a great number of books that claim to hold the key to weight loss. In this review, we will take a look at this book to determine if it has something valuable to share with dieters. |

Concept

The book attempts to do two things—motivate overweight readers to lose weight, and provide a diet and exercise plan that they can follow. The diet plan is designed to create weight loss without having to give up favorite food groups while the exercise component aims to help dieters do away with ineffective workouts.
The author claims that the program can be adjusted to allow for personal likes and dislikes and that dieters would be able to lose at least 10 pounds with it. He offers several workout plans and a diet that not only helps dieters lose weight, but get in shape as well.

The book is composed of 10 chapters beginning with a section entitled “50 Incentives to Lose Weight and Get Fit”. The first four chapters make up Part One which is all about dieting, facts and fallacies about exercise and fitness and choosing “the right formula for success”.
In Part Two of the Book, Jackowski includes actual diet plans for people with different weight goals—those who want to lose 11-30 pounds, 31-60 pounds, 60 pounds or more, and “Plans for Losing Those Last 10 Pounds.” After this chapter is a section featuring additional exercises.
Near the end of the book, Jackowski writes a conclusion and includes a height and weight chart. The final chapter features testimonials. We noted that the book does not have a bibliography page.

Escape Your Weight might interest people who want an alternative diet plan and step by step motivation and guidance as they go through their weight loss program. We like it that the book contained different plans designed according to weight loss goals.
The exercise plan however, may be too tedious and time consuming for some as it includes 11 steps. Also, some dieters might find the diet plan too restrictive because it does not allow them to spread out their calories throughout the day. For these people, a less rigorous alternative such as the use of an herbal appetite suppressant may be more suitable.

With obesity not just a health concern but an economic concern as well, diet products and programs that claim to offer new ways and advice to lose weight continue to flood the market. The book Escape Your Weight has useful advice and information to offer dieters, however we think that the average person might find the diet too restrictive and the exercise plan rather complicated.
Many dieters would probably be interested in a more simple approach such as the use of a supplement to help control food intake and cravings. Formulas that include the African herb Hoodia have been proven to be effective in aiding dieters manage their hunger thereby promoting weight loss. Most manufacturers of such products offer free trial samples to give dieters a chance to test the effectiveness of the supplement themselves.
